Signals tracked for Novobi
The signal classes we read for Novobi, ordered by how close each sits to the moment a manufacturer changes its core system. Every account on the Accounts tab came out of one of these classes, and the class is named there.
How we rank a signal
Two questions decide a signal's value: how close is it to the ERP decision Novobi wants to be in front of, and can the account fund a real implementation at Novobi's size. A dated record that names the system beats an announcement; an announcement beats a job post that names nothing.
One signal is a lead. Two independent signals at the same company, such as a production award and a controller posting that names QuickBooks, is a qualified window.
Closest to the decision
Weeks to ninety days outA live posting written by the company that names the system it is leaving and the seat that will choose the replacement.
First controller or finance lead posting that names the system to replace
A first Controller, Corporate Controller, or ERP lead role whose description says QuickBooks, QuickBooks Enterprise, Fishbowl, or a legacy shop system is being replaced. The person who will run the selection has not started, so the shortlist is open.
From this screenSkyways: Senior Controller posting created June 29, 2026 says the hire will lead the ERP selection to replace QuickBooks.
First ERP named in a greenfield build
A company standing up its first plant or first finance function whose posting says the ERP is being implemented for the first time. The clock is the production or shipment date.
From this screenPeak Energy: Controller posting makes the hire finance lead for the company's first ERP implementation ahead of Q1 2027 shipments.
Forcing events with a date
One to three quarters outPublic records that change what the finance and operations system has to do, before anyone has written a job description.
Federal or state production award
An AFWERX, Navy, or DLA production award, or a state economic-development grant tied to a new plant, moves a low-volume builder into rate production and cost accounting.
From this screenSydor Optics: Empire State Development award, July 30, 2026, for a 100,000-square-foot building operational in fall 2027.
Private-equity platform or add-on
A sponsor buying a sub-$50M manufacturer brings first-year reporting, multi-entity accounting, and acquisition integration. The controller posting that follows names the current system.
From this screenThompson Fabrication: Corporate Controller posting, August 10, 2026, requires QuickBooks Enterprise and puts acquisition integration in the role.
New plant, second site, or relocation in an official record
A council agenda, permit, tax-abatement hearing, or state release that names the site, the size, and the phase still ahead.
Confirming only
Never lead with theseJob postings that name a legacy system without a replacement task
A posting that asks for JobBOSS, E2, Global Shop, or Fishbowl experience confirms the seam and the system in play. It does not originate a window and never carries rank one alone.
Retail-channel launches and facility press at product brands
Target, Walmart, or Costco rollouts and warehouse moves show an operations ceiling, but brands big enough for press have often already chosen NetSuite. Useful for timing, not for proof of the system.
What each account arrives with
- Company and the specific signal that surfaced it, linked to the primary source with its date
- Decision owner with title, and a checked work email where one exists
- The suggested first line and the correction, so outreach never claims more than the record shows
Contact records are delivered in full, validation method and date included.
Signal classes describe categories of public record and the cadence we read them on. Per-account claims live on the Accounts tab with their sources.
